Todos los 7 de junio se celebra en nuestro país el Día del Periodista, y como somos el único colegio con Orientación en Comunicación de la región, nos tomamos este día muy en serio. La comunicación interviene en todos los aspectos de nuestro día a día. A partir del aprendizaje y la práctica en medios como radio, televisión, diarios y vías digitales, los estudiantes obtienen herramientas fundamentales para su desarrollo personal y profesional de cara al futuro.
Este año, los chicos de primaria y secundaria participaron de distintas actividades relacionadas a la comunicación:
Marcelo Lujan y la profesora Beatriz Mazzi coordinaron un proyecto institucional que consistió en salidas didácticas. Los alumnos de 6to. año del nivel primario visitaron Radio Synchro Pinamar 106.9, que funciona en la galería El Ágora. Antes de comenzar su programa matutino, el locutor Hernán Etcheber, recientemente reconocido por el Concejo Deliberante de Pinamar por su labor radiofónica, respondió preguntas de los alumnos. Luego, pudieron presenciar el desarrollo de la programación en vivo.
Los estudiantes de nivel secundario, por su parte, asistieron a una visita guiada por las instalaciones de TelpinTV, donde pudieron conocer cómo se produce un programa de televisión y conversaron con productores y periodistas. Por último, Sergio Michnowicz, representante de Canal 4, visitó el colegio.
Otra de las propuestas fue la creación de una muestra que llamamos Periodismo y Medios de Comunicación, que expone el paso del tiempo en algunos medios tecnológicos utilizados por los periodistas para registrar, producir y reproducir diferentes contenidos de comunicación masiva; a la vez, exhibe cómo el uso y consumo de los mismos, se ha reflejado históricamente en el hogar.
No sólo nos enfocamos en la radio y la televisión, también exploramos el mundo editorial de la comunicación. A partir de una iniciativa de la profesora Yanina Mateos, los alumnos de nivel primario crearon un periódico sobre las actividades relacionadas a algunas efemérides de junio, como el Día del Medioambiente, el Día del Bombero Voluntario y el Día de la Bandera. A partir de este mes, 4to. y 5to. año de nivel secundario prepararán un newsletter que se entregará impreso a los alumnos y se enviará de forma digital a padres y docentes. La publicación mensual recopilará información de eventos sociales, deportes, películas, temas de actualidad intra o extra escolares, en inglés y para toda la comunidad educativa. Esta actividad pedagógica tiene como objetivo que los estudiantes pongan en práctica los estilos de escritura que deben incorporar para poder rendir los exámenes internacionales. En junio se editó la primera edición, a cargo de los chicos de 4to. año.

June 7, Journalist’s Day
Every June 7 in Argentina we celebrate Journalist’s Day, and as we are the only school in the region with a Bachelor’s Degree program in Communications, we take this day very seriously. Communication is involved in all aspects of our daily lives. By learning about and working with different media platforms such as radio, television, newspapers and digital networks, students obtain fundamental tools for their personal and professional growth towards the future.
This year, primary and secondary students participated in different activities related to communication:
Marcelo Lujan and teacher Beatriz Mazzi coordinated an institutional project that consisted of educational field trips. 6th grade students visited Radio Synchro Pinamar 106.9, which is located in the gallery El Ágora. Before starting his morning show, anchorman Hernán Etcheber, recently awarded by the Pinamar Deliberating Council for his radio career, answered questions from the students. Afterwards, they were able to witness the live broadcast of the show.
High school students, on the other hand, attended a guided tour of TelpinTV’s facilities, where they were able to learn how a television show is produced and talked with producers and journalists. Finally, Sergio Michnowicz, representative of Channel 4, visited the school.
Another of our proposals was the creation of an exhibition called Journalism and Media, which shows how technological tools used by journalists to record, produce and reproduce different mass communication content changed through time; at the same time, it exhibits how these devices were historically used at home.
We do not only focus on radio and television, we also explore the editorial world of communication. Based on an initiative by teacher Yanina Lobos, primary school students created a newspaper on activities related to some of June’s anniversaries, such as Environment Day, Volunteer Firefighter’s Day and Flag Day. Starting this month, 4th and 5th grade high school students will be producing a newsletter that will be delivered in print to students and sent digitally to parents and teachers. The monthly publication will compile information on social events, sports, movies, and current affairs in and out of school. It will be in English and for the entire educational community. The purpose of this pedagogical activity is for students to put into practice the writing skills they need to learn in order to take international exams. The first edition was published in June by 4th grade students.
